Rohingya.co is an independent, organizational, non-profit educational project. It is built and maintained by volunteers who care about preserving the history and dignity of the Rohingya people.

How this site is built
Content is written and edited by volunteers, drawing on reports from the UN OHCHR, the Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM), Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, Médecins Sans Frontières, Fortify Rights, the International Crisis Group, and academic historians of Arakan and Burma. Every chapter links to its sources.
The AI assistant and translator are powered by Google Gemini and scoped to Rohingya topics. They are tools to support learning — not a substitute for primary sources or for the voices of Rohingya people themselves.
A note on naming
We use the name Rohingya because it is the name the community uses for itself. We use Rakhine State and Arakan interchangeably, recognising that "Arakan" is the older, regional name still used by many Rohingya and Rakhine alike.
