Where our numbers come from
Every statistic on this site should carry a named source next to it. These are the bodies we rely on most.
- UNHCR — Rohingya emergency Worldwide and Bangladesh refugee population figures.
- OHCHR — Myanmar Human-rights findings, statelessness, and the 1982 Citizenship Law.
- UN IIMM (Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar) Evidence and findings on the 2016–2017 clearance operations.
- IOM — Needs and Population Monitoring Camp-level population and displacement data in Cox's Bazar.
- International Court of Justice — The Gambia v. Myanmar Status of the genocide case and provisional measures.
Where a figure is an estimate, we say so. If you find a number on this site without a source, please report it — we treat that as an error.
